The course for this artifact stated in the learning outcomes that the goal included demonstrating the principles of organizational planning to guide operational decision and affect change.  By analyzing the possible value of the project, based on an assessment of the library goals and objectives, our team of two used the theory stated by Garfein (2007) to determine how useful our action plan would be to the institution.  We provided a structure to reduce the collection development budget while still maintaining a high level of reference and reading materials for the library patrons.  I gained a better understanding of management and leadership techniques while still managing to reduce the library budget.
