The purpose of this artifact is to research current library trends in collection development topics.  Through an examination of the principles, policies, and procedures connected with evaluating, selecting and acquiring library materials and resources, I learned that library collection development helps information professionals to meet the information needs of patrons in a cost-effective manner (Evans, 2000).  Libraries are currently facing the need to digitized their collections, to move print to a digital format with easier modes of access.  I studied how to develop, manage, and organize law library collections given the present challenges and benefits of digitization of library materials.
