The purpose of the course was to prepare effective problem solvers who will provide client-centered services in information institutions, including elements of project management and the principles that support efficient group and team work. Our group worked together to create a strategic proposal for a fictional library we named Midwest University. Using the theory put forth by Jamieson and Morris (2004), we integrated a considerable range of project management leadership, capabilities, and competencies into an organization context. Our team work created a plan to modernize the library into more of a learning commons rather than just a repository for library materials. As a result of our strategic planning, I understand current leadership and management styles and how to work as a team to meet those strategic goals.
