Program Outcomes: 1, 2, 5, 6 & 7

Professional Values: 1, 2 & 3

The purpose of this course was to apply advocacy tools and practices to build and create support for the information organizations goals and resources needs of the modern library.  After studying the First Amendment in law school and working in a library setting, I have become a strong advocate for the freedom of speech.  I believe it is the obligation of all information professionals to protect patron’s right to intellectual freedom.  After researching censorship in a library setting, I developed this advocacy presentation on the “Right for All to Read.  I have uploaded it to YouTube, and I additionally included the original powerpoint.
